I am 5'4" and 60 yo female.I was a little intimidated at the thought of having to use this, but let me tell you, the fear was unfounded.I ordered the 14' saw with pole attachments. This saw comes in sections that just screw on end to end. Very easy. The blade has done an outstanding job so far, and I've been using it a lot. The one issue that I found to be tedious was tightening the blade to the handle. One side of the handle requires a miniature wrench to hold the nuts in place, while the opposite side uses a miniature Phillips head screw driver. The little screwdriver is a pain to use. Just grab a regular screwdriver with an actual handle, you won't be sorry.Overall- this thing cuts well, i like the adjustable length, and the pole feels sturdy. I wish the blade was a smidgen thicker, but for the price and performance, I feel I got a good deal.***Addendum ***11/28/23Having used the 14ft, I should've purchased the next size up or higher as I could adjust those poles to the desired length. But with the 14ft, I can only reach so far.
Excellent saw that made quick work of a few tree limbs we lost to recent storms. Plenty long enough for broken limbs 10-15 feet from the ground. The sectional pole and the saw are well designed and made. The saw blade is a tiny bit thinner than I would like but it worked great. I especially liked the hooks at each end. The pole is strong and sturdy. Very pleased with it. I would buy it again.
Very sharp blade. Cuts well. It is a little flimsy from side to side and may bend if you aren't careful. But it worked well for the job we got it for. I think it will hold up for long enough to make it worth the purchase. Don't expect it to do major cutting, but it's good for trimming and such.
Clearing out so many dead branches on my new property -- this helps me get to the ones I can't reach with my Sawzall! Works well, sharp and easy to use.
This pole saw was so much sturdier than past ones I've used. The pole parts are solid feeling in the hand making maneuvering so easy, none of the wobbly poorly balanced problems from other saws! I trimmed a willow, pine and oak with no problem, very quickly! I purchased the 14' length which I would suggest bc it is adjustable so I had the ability to lengthen as needed to reach higher branches. Full length was for me [a barely 5' foot tall 58 yr old woman with a very bad back and some mobility issues] easily manipulated to reach the limbs I wanted. I was working on a second floor deck, the branches too high for me my husband will get to using a ladder. Just make sure to cut without an angle or the blade can bind, I really actually enjoyed my tree trimming, well except for the 500 willow aphids that were crawling all over me,ugh. Great product highly recommend!!
Very sharp. Lightweight but sturdy. I use it to prune palm trees along the wall of the property line. The hook end is useful for snagging the fronds so they don't fall over the wall. Of course it also snags as I'm maneuvering it but that's unavoidable. The detachable handle extensions are a great feature that allows it to be used as an up close hand saw or a long pole saw.
Easy to assemble. The sectional assembly allows customized length for higher branches or hand held for reducing felled branches or brush. The blade comes almost alarmingly sharp. The only reason I gave four stars is the blade is fairly thin and wobbly. For personal yard or smaller tasks it is excellent. I would not recommend it for constant usage in a professional environment though.
58 yr. old short woman trims pine tree limbs; the largest thickness the size of large orange. It was her first time trimming a tree!!! This tree trimmer made her look like a pro!!! Lightweight adjustable tree trimmer. Easy to assemble, but use your own screwdriver/pliers. Clearly the tools they include in the package are ridiculous. I love this tree trimmer!!! Fabulous!!
I've used this several times since I received it cutting limbs from some of my bigger trees. The longer extension is what I was needing but the pole, once assembled, is what it is and is difficult to take sections apart to make shorter afterward. Still, for the price was a good investment for me. Remember, its just a manual saw with no small limb cutter on it as some more pricier models have. It is sturdy once assembled.
Walensee Pole Saw for Tree Trimming 14 FT Lightweight Manual Stainless Steel ExtensionThe top part that holds the blade won't stay screwed on. Even when I screwed it on as tight as I could get it, the top part kept falling off. The design of the blade seems like a good idea. I tried taking it completely apart. When I unscrewed the phillips head, something gray fell out. I put it back together, and suddely it works the way it should. I am only giving it 4 stars, because quality control at the factory should have checked for that problem. Maybe they should give me some kind of a gift certificate for all the trouble I went through.
