Recently bought this and have used it a few times now. I am very pleased that it is lightweight and easy to use. I was skeptical at first about buying another one with a 20 V battery but friends recommended it so I thought I would give it a try. It is more powerful than my WORX trimmer/edger . Easily switches from trimming to edging with a turn of the handle. The length of the shaft is also adjustable which is also great as I am short. The line is self feeding which is another great feature. I have a large lot with two driveways so I had to do all of it over the course of several hours as the batteries needed to be recharged which takes about four hours. I did order a second charger so the next time I used it both batteries were charged and I got the job done in one session. The batteries last about 20 minutes each which would be good for a small yard. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend.

100ish bucks for 2 tools & 2 batteries! Not bad! I decided to no longer use a lawn service and get a low cost mower and trimmer. I originally looked at the 40v version trimmer. It was over 130 bucks and came with just one battery. Then I saw this combo and figured I'd give it a try. Would the 40v have more power? Of course; but, would the 20v be enough for my uses? Well, yes it is just great for my uses! I just have a standard single family house lawn. I just have to trim by the fence and the bricks around my bushes/flowers (I haven't edged with it yet so I cannot comment on that). This got the job done easy! I should have timed myself; I probably had the trimmer running for at least 15 minutes, and it was still going strong when I finished. The blower works well for small areas (sidewalks, back deck). But, it isn't super powerful.Overall, if you just need to do some light trimming, this combo will work great for you! With 2 batteries, you should never run out of power if your uses are similar to mine. The blower is an added bonus. I wasn't going to get a blower, just a trimmer. But, I am happy I have it now to just blow off the sidewalk and end of driveway. If you don't need a blower, and just want the most power, the 40v is a great choice too I'm sure. But, this 20v I am quite happy with. It is so light as well, very easy to use!

I am a new home owner and needed a trimmer/edger to buy stat as the home I moved into had grass growing off the wahzoo. The trimmer/edger is super nice for the price you pay. I haven't had to change the string, and I've had it a couple of months now. It's quiet, and trims really well. I use it every week. The people in the negative reviews must be trying to chop down trees with this trimmer... Otherwise idk how else their string is snapping so easily. I use it to trim the grass/weeds along my side walks, stepping stones, house, and garden. It works wonderfully... Especially for a first time user. The battery sucks... Each battery lasts only about 30min. And the battery charger that comes with your purchase will take about 8hrs to charge up just one battery. Highly suggest getting a quick charger. Works like a charm and will charge your battery in 45minutes! It takese about an hour and a half to take care of my lawn... So while one battery is in use, the other stays on the charger so that it's a quick battery change. As for the sweeper, it is not going to blow sopping wet leaf piles away or a ship out of the sea. Do not expect it to be what it's not!!! It works great to clear off my drive way/side walks after I mow the lawn. Again, the negative comments... I don't know what people are trying to use it for.... It's not a heavy duty leaf blower, and I wouldn't expect it to be for such a low price. It's a sturdy little sweeper and works great to do exactly that...sweep! It's very quiet too.Highly recommend if you want something cheap but good for every day little tasks.

We are coming to the end of our second summer and fall seasons using the Black & Decker 20V Power Connect Cordless String Trimmer and Sweeper Combo Kit (LCC222) at our lakeside vacation cottage. These are great light weight, light duty tools. One charge of the 20V lithium batteries provides enough run time for string trimming all around our cottage and detached garage, or for sweeping pine needles, leaves, and other debris off of our fairly large deck, or for blowing grass clippings off of our moderate length driveway after mowing. These tools are light weight and easy to carry and use, but your expectations have to be realistic because they are also fairly light duty tools. Many of the less favorable reviews of the sweeper call it a "leaf blower." Although the tool looks like a miniature leaf blower, it is NOT a leaf blower, it's a "sweeper" as clearly described in the listing (think broom, not rake). Plenty of power for blowing debris off of our deck or blowing grass clippings off of the driveway, but you shouldn't expect this light duty tool to blow leaves off of large areas of your grass. Similarly, the light weight string trimmer works fine on long grass or weeds around buildings or trees, but don't expect it to cut down thick weeds or heavy brush. And although you can use the trimmer for very light edging, we use a much heavier duty tool when it's time for the annual edging of our driveway. When used within their limitations, these are both excellent tools, and we usually use one or both of them during every visit to our cottage.

After growing up in a farm house of Stihl products, I knew that after moving into the city I didn't want to bother with mixing and storing gas/oil for my small lawn, so when I saw this battery powered combo go on sale, I knew I wanted to try it.Mostly weed whacker/battery information:Honestly, for $90 it gets the job done, so long as the job isn't really big. I've got about a third of an acre and I do a little bit of work trimming and edging every few days when I get an extra hour, and it's worked out pretty well. Yesterday I did a rough edge on my driveway and about half the sidewalk before having to call it quits and recharge the battery.Fully charged I get somewhere between 25 - 30 minutes per battery, and since it comes with 2 batteries it kind of works out for the schedule I set for myself. It does feel like it takes hours for each one to completely charge, which can be annoying when you're trying to knock something out or hit a specific goal. The battery situation is probably my least favorite part of this deal.My first week with the wacker was a hate/hate relationship, but upon reflection I was trying to tear through some small sprouting maple trees and tall weeds along my fence and garage, and more than once did I mess up the feed line. But the head comes off easy (two small buttons to depress), and once you remove the spool and rewind the line and get it back through the hole, you get back to work pretty easily. Once I figured out the kinks, I'm happy with it's performance. The general upkeep after my initial whack has been easy and fast and it only takes a few minutes to clear my fences and garage and driveway each week. I've now advanced into all of my edging which takes a lot more time with this. It has some power, but it takes multiple go overs to try and chip away at any sense overgrown grass. The blower:So far I love the blower. It handles the grass clippings with ease, the whirlybirds from our neighbors maple tree, deer poop, and even the corn my 5yr old throws all over the driveway for the squirrels. I haven't had to do heavy leaves or really wet grass yet, but so far I think it's the stronger half of this combo.All-In-All: Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. It's a nice little set if you're looking for something to get you started and do a little work, but if you're continuously doing yard work or looking for a big clean up helper, I'd look at a stronger model, or go electric/gas.EDIT: So I've been using this for a year now and it has still held up. I whack after every mow, and no joke - I fought the extremely slow (trickle) charger they sent with this every time. It got real annoying trying to remember if I switched the batteries so the other could charge.Over time I somehow managed to smack the trimmer into sitting at a weird angle, so now when I mow I have to keep it half cocked to the side to get it straight, and then exaggerate it the other way to go up and down. As the primary user I know how it works, but if someone else were to try it they'd probably hate it.Other than that it has held up.My own tips: if you're planning on mowing through some big stuff with it - advance your line so you have a lot of line for whipping. Really helps knock it down and it chews it back down to 'normal' length pretty fast. I also recommend spending a little more on a Black and Decker base charger if you plan on doing a lot of work. I hadn't even thought about one till Amazon suggested one that was on sale, and I cannot believe I played with that annoying supplied charger this long. Spend the extra $25 and get a real charger. Mount it somewhere. Charge your battery in 40 minutes (as opposed to 4 hours) and avoid the headache. Hope to update you next year!

I now have a *very* small yard (maybe 100sqft, on a townhome), so this is my first time trying battery instead of plug-in-electric or gas lawn tools.I really was only getting this for the weed-eater, and the blower was a pure bonus.I was expecting lighter, lighter-duty, but short battery life. I ended up impressed in about all the ways.Positives:- Weight - even lighter+more maneuverable than expected- Blower - was essentially a bonus. I'd only wanted the weed-eater, but this was available for similar cost to weed-eater only, and turns out to be a great addition for cleaning leaves off the deck- Charge - I was expecting to have to charge every 1-2 weed-eating sessions, but it regularly lasts about 4-6- Line - I was used to the 'whack it on the ground to release more line' mechanism, so was skeptical of the auto-line-dispensing. However, it seems to just work, and is much nicerNegatives:- Size - weed-eater is actually so small I have to hunch over to reach the ground. Low weight is great, but size is a better fit for a child

Had a 10-year-old Black & Decker weed whip that the auto feed mechanism finally broke for good but the batteries were still good so I bought another Black & Decker system. This weed whip works surprisingly well and is excellent at using as an edger. The blower is small and convenient and not very loud, but the battery life is not very good. Maybe 15 minutes per battery on the blower. Whereas the weed whip lasts at least 20-25 minutes per battery

  • try4you

So I definitely have to say that this sucker does the job. It's pretty light weight and easy to use. The string on the weed eater last for along time, and automatically feeds. The blower is very light but tends to move the leaves, it is not the best if you have high expectations. My biggest complaint about this is the battery life. When using the weed eater, the battery last long enough for me to do most of my yard on 1 of them, but sometimes I do have to use both. When using the blower, the battery sucks!! I don't think I can even get a good 7 minutes of use from it.Other than that I think this is good if you need something to get the job done and your budget is not too high.

The powerful blower allows me to clear the leaves off my deck without having to bring out an electric extension cord. I also expect to use it whenever we get a light snow on the deck.It arrived in a timely manner and safely packaged. The price for the combination of two tools was great, especially considering they came with two batteries.
