I saw this product online forever and FINALLY bought it! Can I tell you that this has been one of my best purchases for my sewing. I do a lot of chain stitching and it was saved me a massive amount of time cutting the thread. This is a great way to use your old rotary blades and the base serves as a little storage for the product. I would highly recommend this product as it is a huge time saver. The assembly was easy use and the blade was easy to install (basically the same as a rotary blade).
Love this! Saves so much time cutting chain stitching! Also a great way to use old cutter blades. Highly recommended!
Great for string piecing!
Does not come With blade.
Nice little gadget, glad I bought it!
If you are a quilter and do a lot of chain piecing then put this cutter on your Christmas list cuz you won't believe how much time it will save you! Yes, you can use your snips to cut those threads but it will take you three to four times longer to clip a long chain of pieced blocks. And if you have any hand arthritis, all that scissoring motion will come back to pain you. There's none of that with this cutter. It's fast, it's efficient & it's a use for old rotary blades. I looked at several blade cutters before I got this one. I liked that the blade is covered to protect your hand and your handiwork. And it's got a wide base to make it stable so it doesn't scoot around or require any special skill to get the thread to the cutting edge. And it comes in such cute colors! It can even be closed up for safe transport to a sewing class or retreat. Yes, a wee bit more expensive than other cutters but worth the couple of extra dollars, in my opinion.
I've been quilting for a very long time. I had another blue triangle shaped cutter with a yellow flower on the side but no matter which way I turned that tool it tore the thread, not easily either, rather than cut it. This tool is amazing. It uses an old 45mm blade (extra points for creative use of an old blade) inside the tool. It cuts, yes, cuts not tears the thread effortlessly. If the blade seems to be getting harder to cut you just rotate to a new section. I put a fine black marker mark on the section I felt was not cutting as well after much use. You can also open the tool up and CAREFULLY move the blade slightly for a fresh section. There are little rubber feet to keep the tool from running away. Amazing tool. You definitely need this.
why buy any other thread cutting tool that goes in the trash when the fixed blade goes dull, or that requires the purchase of specific blade replacements? any quilter is going to have an abundance of used rotary blades, also destined for the trash, so why not eliminate some landfill trash? my only suggestion is for someone to invent more uses for used rotary blades, because one will last as your thread cutter in this product darned near forever, just like this well-built, simply designed daisy will.
Perfect for cutting chain piecing. Faster than scissors.
I love this thread cutter when making half square triangles or any project for fast thread cutting —how did I quilt without this? I recommend!
